Lebanon: Engaging Men and Boys in Gender Equality Programming

This five-week course examines critical concepts such as masculinity, patriarchy and intersectionality in order to engage men and boys in gender equality programming in both development and humanitarian settings. Participants will think critically about engaging men and boys both as change agents and as target groups in realizing gender equality and gender justice. Topics covered include: men,masculinities and gender, engaging men across specific sectors, opportunities and challenges in engaging men and boys in gender equality programming, engaging men in the Arab world.

The course is part of the Gender in Development and Humanitarian Assistance (GDHA) Diploma continuing education program targeting students and practitioners organised by the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) and the Continuing Education Program (CEP) at the Lebanese American University with Human Rights Education Associates (HREA).

Classes take place on 13 April, 20 April, 27 April, 4 May and 11 May from 18:00-21:00 at LAU's Beirut campus. It also possible to participate in the course through web-conferencing.
