This five-week course addresses the importance of data to advance gender issues, including safe and ethical techniques for data collection, sharing, and management. Participants gain understanding of the various methods and modalities for data collection in development and humanitarian settings. Topics covered include: sex-disaggregated data, qualitative and quantitative data, data management, safe and ethical data guidance, tools and resources for gender monitoring and evaluation.
The course is part of the Gender in Development and Humanitarian Assistance (GDHA) Diploma continuing education program targeting students and practitioners organised by the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) and the Continuing Education Program (CEP) at the Lebanese American University with Human Rights Education Associates (HREA).
Classes take place on 20 March, 23 March, 27 March, 30 March and 3 April from 18:00-21:00 at LAU's Beirut campus. It also possible to participate in the course through web-conferencing.For more information and queries, please contact GDHA@lau.edu.lb.
